Road Construction and Maintenance Update

November 20-27, 2020

  
SPOKANE COUNTY, November 20, 2020 – Please slow down in work zones and watch for flaggers.
 
ROAD CONSTRUCTION

Geiger Blvd – Soda to Grove Rd
Geiger Blvd. is OPEN from Soda to Electric and local businesses are open. The project will shut down for winter on November 19, 2020. Completed: 06/30/2021.
   Geiger Bv: from Soda Rd to Spokane City Limits (Electric Ave)
   Motorists should use an alternate route. Electric Avenue and Thomas Mallon are open. However, Spotted Road remains closed. Please slow down and use extreme caution when travelling inside the work zone.
 
Pine Bluff Bridge #2609
Crew is stabilizing the Coulee Creek slopes below the bridge, installing short cast-in-place concrete walls that are anchored to the bedrock at the base of the slopes, placing shotcrete on the slopes with soil/rock anchors, and anchoring the habitat. Completed: 12/31/2020.
   Pine Bluff Rd: from Seven Mile Rd to Carlson Rd
   Motorists should expect delays in both directions and all lanes, slow down and watch for flaggers.

PRIVATE CONTRACTOR WORK BY PERMIT

Gas Service Construction
Avista Utilities (800-227-9187) is working on a gas service construction project, west of Shady Slope Road on the south side of Winger Road. Completed: 11/23/2020.
   Winger Rd: from Shady Slope Rd to Crestline St.
   Flaggers may be present in both directions. Motorists should slow down in the work zone and be prepared for one-way flagging on Winger Rd from Shady Slope to Crestline.

Reg Station Repair
Avista Utilities (800-227-9187) is working on a Reg. Station repair project, at the intersection of Wild Rose and Perry on the southwest corner at 23926 N. Perry Road. Completed: 11/23/2020.
   Perry Rd: from Wild Rose Rd to Wild Rose Rd.
   Flaggers may be present in both directions. Motorists should slow down in the work zone and be prepared for one-way flagging at the intersection of Wild Rose and Perry.
 
Water Main Installation
Crews are installing a water main on Howe Rd to the east of McKinnon Rd. Completed: 11/23/2020.
   Howe Rd: from Lowe Rd to Day-Mt Spokane Rd
   Road Closed! Slow down in the detours and watch for flaggers.

ROAD MAINTENANCE
 
Euclid Rd Bridge Closure
Euclid Rd Bridge is closed and a detour is in place. Replacing the bridge is the responsibility of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.
   Euclid Rd: from Bridge #1508 Over BNSF to Lyons Rd
   Road Closed – Euclid Rd Bridge Closed
 
Spokane County crews are repairing potholes and sweeping as the weather permits.
