Road Construction and Maintenance Update

SPOKANE COUNTY, November 13 2020 – Motorists are reminded to slow down in work zones and to watch for flaggers.
Geiger Blvd – Soda to Grove Rd
Geiger Blvd. is CLOSED from Soda to Electric – however local businesses remain open. Temp access for businesses is on Allied and Dowdy. The project will shut down for winter on November 19, 2020. Completed: 06/30/2021.
Geiger Bv: from Soda Rd to Spokane City Limits (Electric Ave)
Motorists should use an alternate route. Electric Avenue is open. Thomas Mallon is open. Please slow down and use extreme caution when travelling inside the work zone.
Pine Bluff Bridge #2609
Crew is stabilizing the Coulee Creek slopes below the bridge, installing short cast-in-place concrete walls that are anchored to the bedrock at the base of the slopes, placing shotcrete on the slopes with soil/rock anchors, and anchoring the habitat. Completed: 11/30/2020.
Pine Bluff Rd: from Seven Mile Rd to Carlson Rd
Motorists should expect delays in both directions and all lanes, slow down and watch for flaggers.
PRIVATE CONTRACTOR WORK BY PERMIT
Grade and Repave Existing Approach at Regina and US 395 Intersection
Crews are grading and repaving the existing approach with TCP NB Road Closure. Completed: 11/16/2020.
Northbound Road Closure on Regina at US 395 Intersection
Replace Transmission Pole
Avista crew is replacing the transmission pole at 24414 E. Rail Road Avenue, southwest of Wellesley Avenue. Completed: 11/17/2020.
Railroad Av: from Simpson Rd to Simpson Rd
Road Closed at Railroad Avenue at Simpson.
Crew is replacing Pole #174487 off the 4900 block of N. McKenzie on the east side of the road, approximately 600-feet to the north of Wellesley. Completed: 11/17/2020.
Wellesley Av: from McKenzie Rd to Garry Rd
Lanes closed in both directions. Northbound lane closure will guided by two flaggers. Motorists are asked to slow down in the work zone.
Water Main Installation
Beginning on November 2, 2020, crews will be installing a water main on Howe Rd to the east of McKinnon Rd. Completed: 11/23/2020.
Howe Rd: from Lowe Rd to Day-Mt Spokane Rd
Road Closed: 5 DAY CLOSURE WITH DETOURS

Euclid Rd Bridge Closure
Euclid Rd Bridge is closed and a detour is in place. Replacing the bridge is the responsibility of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.
