On October 5, 2016 at approximately 1:30 p.m., the victim was shopping at the Ross located on Broadway in Spokane Valley.  She stated a Hispanic male approached her and asked for assistance.  While she was distracted by the male, a white female stole the victim’s wallet out of her purse she had placed in her shopping cart.

The suspects attempted to make several charges on the victim’s bank cards at various locations.

Anyone who can help identify the male or female in these pictures is asked to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233 and reference #10000807.

Please remember, criminals are looking for their next “opportunity” to victimize you or someone in our community.  They want your hard earned money, property or to fraudulently use your good name.  Zipping or snapping purses closed, remaining vigilant and being aware of your surroundings might make these predators rethink their chances.

As the holiday season rapidly approaches, don’t leave items, gifts, or shopping bags in your vehicle where they can be seen and quickly stolen by an opportunistic predator looking to ruin your day.  Lock and conceal items in your trunk, carry them with you, or at least hide or keep them out of view from criminals walking through parking lots as they look for easy targets.

Report suspicious activity in parking lots, your neighborhoods and watch out for your neighbors and fellow shoppers.  Try to provide good descriptions and license plates of associated vehicles, but most of all, be safe.
