Wanted, 6-Time Convicted Felon, Found in Possession of Several Controlled Substances, Arrested

A Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested the rider of a motorcycle after he attempted to flee from a traffic stop and crashed in a parking lot.   The suspect, a 6-time convicted felon, was wanted for a felony US Marshal warrant (probation violation for an original charge of homicide) and was found to be in possession of a large quantity of illegal drugs, including suspected Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Heroin, pills believed to contain Fentanyl, zip-top baggies, and $2.100 in cash.  He was transported and booked into the Spokane County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance (4 counts) and his felony warrant.

On October 23, 2023, at approximately 1:30 am, Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputy A. Johnson observed a motorcycle traveling northbound on Division Street, in the 7300 block, without a license plate.  The motorcyclist, later identified as 43-year-old Robby J. Wahrer, pulled into a business parking lot, and Deputy Johnson followed, activating his emergency lights to conduct a traffic stop.

As Deputy Johnson exited his patrol vehicle, Wahrer began to back into a parking stall on the north side of the parking lot.  Suddenly, Wahrer made eye contact with Deputy Johnson and chose to accelerate south through the parking lot.

Deputy Johnson followed, hoping the Wahrer would pull over, but moments later, he lost control of the motorcycle and crashed.  He fell off the bike and began to tumble as the motorcycle continued, colliding with a brick wall.

Wahrer stood up and appeared to ready himself to flee on foot as Deputy Johnson gave commands to stop and get on the ground.   Wahrer put his hands up as instructed, complied with additional commands, and was safely taken into custody without further incident.

A check of Wahrer’s name revealed an active U.S. Marshal’s warrant for a probation violation (original charge of homicide).  Wahrer was advised of his rights and declined to answer questions.  A check of the license plate, which was bent up into the fender well, making it unreadable from behind, showed it was fictitious and did not belong on the motorcycle ridden by Wahrer.

Wahrer and the backpack he was wearing were searched incident to arrest.  Deputy Johnson located approximately $2,100, 155 grams of suspected Methamphetamine, 83 grams of suspected Cocaine, 22 grams of suspected Heroin, and about 3,500 pills believed to contain Fentanyl.  Also located were multiple zip-top bags commonly used in the sale of illegal narcotics.

After medics evaluated Wahrer, he was transported to the Spokane County Jail, where he was booked on four counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver (RCW 69.50.401) and on the felony US Marshal’s warrant.

Wahrer is a six-time convicted felon (Attempt to Elude (3 counts), Riot with a Deadly Weapon, Theft of a Firearm, and Possession of a Stolen Firearm), and he has three federal convictions, including Murder for Hire, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, and Interstate Transportation in Aid of Racketeering.
