Major Crimes Detectives Investigate Fatal Shooting

Spokane Valley Major Crimes Detectives are investigating an apparent fatal shooting on N. Argonne Road near E. Knox Avenue in Spokane Valley.  Information about what occurred is limited at this early stage of the investigation.  No arrests have been made.

On September 2, 2023, at approximately 3:30 pm, Spokane Valley Patrol Deputies responded to the report of an injured male in the 2200 block on N. Argonne.  The caller stated the male, bleeding from the chest, had just walked into the lobby of the business, but they didn’t know what caused his injuries.

Spokane Valley Deputies, Spokane County Deputies, and Spokane Valley Fire personnel arrived, contacted the adult male victim, and provided medical care, including CPR, for what appeared to be gunshot wounds.  Unfortunately, despite these efforts, the adult male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Major Crimes Detectives and Forensic Unit Technicians responded to help locate the scene where the shooting occurred, process it for evidence, and continue the investigation to determine what led to the victim's death.

At this time, information about what happened leading up to the fatal incident is limited.  From the initial information learned at this point, investigators do not believe this was a random incident, and there is no known ongoing threat to the public stemming from it.

Anyone not already contacted by Deputies with information regarding this incident or observed /heard anything suspicious this afternoon around 3:30 pm in the surrounding area of E. Knox, between N. Argonne Road and N. Hutchinson Road, is urged to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233, reference #10132751.
