County Crews Plowing Priority One Routes

Public Needs to be Aware of Weather/Road Conditions

  
SPOKANE COUNTY, December 20, 2022 – With several inches of fresh snow, crews will continue to work long hours through the night keeping the Priority One roads clear (emergency routes and main arterials) and sanding. Motorists are reminded that there is a layer of ice underneath the snow, making road surfaces extremely slick. Please remember to stay at least 50-feet behind our snow removal equipment and never attempt to pass on the right. 

Extremely cold temperatures are also expected through Thursday, increasing concerns for ice forming on damp road surfaces.  Please drive for the road conditions and not the speed limit – and give yourself plenty of room to stop!

By Friday, temperatures will begin to rise and bring snow showers into the region – followed by freezing rain on Saturday and possibly Sunday.  Property owners are encouraged to clear snow, ice and debris from storm drains.
