The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Regional Air Support Unit would like to thank Associated Painters, Inc. and CW Wraps & Marketing of Post Falls for their time, hard work and assistance for the new paint and graphics for Air 2.
With their assistance, along with equipment donations from other aviation units, grant funding, and private company donations, Air 2 is ready to supplement the invaluable services provided by the Air Support Unit.
Air 2 will enable the Air Support Unit to respond to callouts, provide limited patrols and training while Air 1 is undergoing maintenance or is otherwise unavailable for service. Air 2 has similar capabilities as Air 1 and is also an OH-58.
The Air Support Unit, which operates on a very limited budget, would not be possible if it wasn’t for the all Volunteer Pilots who respond to callouts and freely give their time to serve our community. It is with their dedication, along with assistance from local businesses like Associated Painters Inc., CW Wraps & Marketing, and Oil Analysis Lab Inc., the Air Support Unit successfully and safely provides services such as search and rescue, fugitive searches, major fire support, surveillance, homeland security critical infrastructure checks, natural disaster damage assessment, and patrol services to the Inland Northwest.
Thank you to our friends with the Chelan County Sheriff’s Air Support Unit, Life Flight Network, Army National Guard and Fairchild Air Force Flight Crews for stopping by our training yesterday. Your dedication to safety and your support is much appreciated.
