[ARCHIVED] UPDATE: Kootenai Co. Sheriff's Deputies arrest Homicide Suspect Jason J. Obermiller in N. Idaho

Crime Stoppers of the Inland Northwest is offering a cash reward of Up to $1,000 for anyone providing information leading to an arrest of homicide suspect, 32-year-old Jason J. Obermiller, who is also wanted by the U.S. Marshals for a felony probation violation warrant.

Obermiller is described as a white male, approximately 5’08” with a medium/thin build with brown hair and brown eyes.

Persons with information should call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 1-800-222-TIPS, or should submit the tip via the Internet website http://www.crimestoppersinlandnorthwest.org.

Tipsters do not have to give their name to collect the cash reward. Crime Stoppers of the Inland Northwest is a civilian organization that promotes public safety by paying cash rewards for information that solves crimes. It is not affiliated with law enforcement. Detectives Work to Locate Homicide Suspect, Jason J. Obermiller

Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Detectives, working with U.S. Marshals, are attempting to locate homicide suspect, 32-year-old Jason J. Obermiller, who is also wanted by the U.S. Marshals for a felony probation violation warrant.

Obermiller is described as a white male, approximately 5’08” with a medium/thin build with brown hair and brown eyes.

Detectives Investigating the Death of a 2-Year-Old as a Homicide

Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Detectives are now investigating the death of a 2-year-old female reported on September 12, 2016, at a residence located in the 3300 block of East 55th Avenue as a homicide.

Investigators processed the residence well into the evening on Monday as they collected evidence to help them determine what caused the death of this young child. During the search, detectives located several ounces of methamphetamine, some heroin and a handgun inside the residence prompting the need for a second search warrant to be requested.

With information gained during the investigation, and after consulting with the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office, investigators have now classified this investigation as a homicide.

The names of the mother or person(s) at the residence are not being released at this time as this is an active, ongoing investigation.

The three siblings of the deceased victim have been placed with Child Protective Services.

Major Crimes Detectives Investigating Death of a 2 Year Old

This afternoon at approximately 1:20 p.m., Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of an infant not breathing at a residence located in the 3300 block of East 55th Avenue in Spokane County.

Spokane County Fire District 8 personnel arrived at the scene and confirmed the 2-year-old female was deceased.

Spokane County Major Crimes Detectives were called to the scene as we do with unexpected or unattended death.

Investigators are conducting interviews and will process the scene for any possible evidence as they work to determine what occurred prior to the child’s death.
