Grant Funding Available from Spokane Bike Swap

Awards Range Between $500 and $5,000

Spokane Bike Swap is an annual event that attracts hundreds of people who love of biking in Spokane County.  As a non-profit, Bike Swap also provides charitable support to encourage a healthy and vibrant community.

With that in mind, Spokane Bike Swap is taking applications for grant funding. Community organizations and individuals will find the application form at the Bike Swap website (see below).

Spokane Bike Swap Background and Grant Information:

The Spokane Bike Swap held its first event in April 2012. The intent was to be a clearinghouse of used bikes for people who wanted to sell, buy, or donate bikes. Until 2020, the proceeds of the Bike Swap supported a charity in the community. In late 2019, the Spokane Bike Swap became a non-profit and in doing so changed the direction of how proceeds from the Bike Swap are distributed. In 2021, the Spokane Bike Swap awarded $5,000 in grant funds to four different organizations including Center for Children’s Book Art, Deer Park Volunteer Ambulance, Commute Smart Northwest and YMCA.

For 2022, the Spokane Bike Swap will start taking applications from community organizations and individuals for grants that will be awarded to those organizations and individuals. The application can be found on the Bike Swap website, http://spokanebikeswap.com/Grants.aspx. The deadline for applications is June 30, 2022, and grant awards will be announced July 31, 2022. The anticipated award range for 2022 is $500 to $5,000.

If you are a startup, small business, organization, or an individual that can benefit from locally-derived funding, we encourage you to apply for the Spokane Bike Swap grant.
