UPDATE: Death Investigation on E. 4th Avenue

 

Traffic Unit Investigators processed/documented the scene that had been secured to preserve potential evidence and later conferred with the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office.  

 

Several neighbors were contacted, and no witnesses or evidence was found that would indicate a vehicle was involved in the death.   Additionally, no signs of trauma were observed during a closer examination of the deceased.

 

Investigators continue to search for witnesses or surveillance videos that could assist as this death investigation continues.  

 

The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased, along with the cause and manner of death when appropriate.   

 

People living in the immediate area are asked to review their surveillance video for anything that may shed light on what occurred.  Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233, reference #10018721.

Death Investigation on E. 4th Avenue in Spokane Valley 

 

Spokane Valley Deputies and Traffic Unit Investigators are in the beginning stages of an investigation after the discovery of a deceased male early this morning.  The scene has been secured, and 4th Avenue is closed to traffic between S. Evergreen Road and S. Best Road.  Please avoid this area while the investigation is conducted.  

 

On February 15, 2022, at approximately 7:40 am., Spokane Valley Deputies responded to the 14100 block of E. 4th Avenue for the report of a male lying on the ground near the side of the road.  

 

The caller stated the male was possibly hit by a vehicle and might be deceased but was unsure.  

 

Deputies and Spokane Valley Fire Fighters arrived and confirmed the male was deceased.  The scene was secured, and Traffic Unit Investigators were requested.  

 

The initial belief is this appears to possibly be a hit-and-run incident.  However, the investigation is in its early stages as Investigators work to determine what actually occurred based on the evidence.

 

4th Avenue is closed to traffic between S. Evergreen and S. Best Road.   Please avoid the area while this incident is conducted.
