
Fatal Crash on N. Wood Road
Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit Investigators are at the scene of a two-vehicle crash on N. Wood Road. One driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the second driver received what is believed to be minor injuries.
On January 13, 2022, at approximately 7:00 a.m., Spokane County Deputies were called to a reported two-vehicle crash in the 6500 block of N. Wood Road.
Initial information indicates a 2003 Saturn Ion, driven by an adult female, was traveling north on Wood Road when she crossed the centerline of the roadway, striking a 2005 Chevrolet Truck head-on.
The female driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The adult male driver of the truck appeared to sustain minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital.
Traffic Unit Investigators were called to the scene to determine what caused this fatal crash.
N. Wood Road is closed to traffic between W. Jacobs Road and W. Coulee Hite Road as the investigation is conducted.
SIRT Team Volunteers also responded to the scene to assist with traffic control.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the decedent's name at a later time, when appropriate.
