Two Evicted Suspects Return to House where Stolen Vehicle was Located
Both Arrested, One Suspect Kicks Windows, Threatens LE, and Judges
Spokane Valley Deputies arrested an adult male and female who chose to return to a home where they had been evicted earlier in the day. After the eviction, a reported stolen motorcycle was recovered from the front room of the house. The male suspect continually kicked the windows and doors of the patrol car and had to be further restrained. While on the way to jail, he continued his aggressive and disruptive behavior, threatening the lives of the Deputy, his family, other law enforcement, and judges.
On November 16, 2021, at approximately 2:30 pm., Spokane Valley Deputies responded to a residence, located in the 10007 block of E. Broadway Ave. in Spokane Valley, for the report of a person trying to kick in the door of the home.
The property owner said the two suspects, identified as 30-year-old Stanley H. Hamilton (AKA last of Smith) and 64-year-old April R. Romero (AKA last of Franetich), were legally evicted from the home earlier in the day (10:30 am). She said both Stanley and April have now returned to the house and were trying to break in by kicking in the door.
One of the Deputies responding had assisted on the earlier call and knew April was at the home when the court-ordered eviction was executed.
Arriving Deputies observed April and Stanley walking away from the east side of the house. Stanley was carrying a box with what appeared to be the handle of a large machete sticking out. Both April and Stanley were safely taken into custody.
A closer look revealed the handle was that of a large machete.
After Stanley was informed he was being arrested for Residential Burglary, he began rambling incoherently. Stating something to the effect, he could go into the home anytime he wanted and didn’t recognize the Deputy’s authority to arrest him. He was advised of his rights and declined to answer questions.
After he was placed in the back of the patrol car, Stanley began kicking the doors and windows. Deputies opened the door and advised him to stop, but he assured them he would continue. Once the door was closed, indeed Stanley continued kicking the windows and doors. Additional restraints were applied to prevent him from injuring himself or damaging the patrol car.
April asked about “her motorcycle” and was advised it was being returned to the owner, who reported it stolen. April was transported and booked into the Spokane County Jail for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Criminal Trespassing 2nd Degree.
While on the way to the jail, Stanley continued to be aggressive, threatening to kill the Deputy, his family, Spokane County Judges, and all other law enforcement he encountered once he was released. Stanley was booked for Residential Burglary, and Intimidating a Public Servant.
