Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Welcomes 1 Entry-Level Deputy and 2 Lateral Deputies

On Friday morning, October 1, 2021, Spokane Valley Police Chief David Ellis swore in one new Entry-Level Deputy and two Lateral Deputies.

Deputy Ashley Hood is 24-years-old and grew up in Southern California. She was previously employed with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department for the past three years.  Deputy Hood chose to move here from California to join the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office and be closer to family.

Deputy Eric McDade is 29-years-old and was born and raised in Australia, where he worked as a Transit Police Officer for over four years.  He moved to the United States in 2019 and would like to be a Field Training Officer and possibly join the K9 Unit as his career progresses.

Deputy Zachary Stewart is 26-years-old and a Lateral Deputy from the Merced Police Department in California, where he has served since 2015.   He is excited for the opportunity to serve the Citizens of Spokane County.

Please help us welcome our three newest Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies and their families.  We hope they have a long and safe career here in Spokane County.
