ROAD CONSTRUCTION

57th Ave- Perry St. to Mt. Vernon Rd.

Constructing ADA ramps, median island construction, HMA grinding and paving. Lane Closures & narrow lanes - use alternate route. The project is experiencing delays associated with COVID-19. Please be patient with our progress. Completed: Mid-November.
 
Appleway Ave Reconstuction – Full Road Closure on Monday, September 13 2021.
Improvement of Appleway Ave. by removing asphalt and concrete pavement, planning bituminous pavement, grading and shaping crushed surfacing, HMA, guardrail, pavement markings. Completed: November 30, 2021.
          Appleway Av: from Spokane Bridge Rd to Spokane Bridge Rd
          
Intersection of Appleway Ave. and Spokane Bridge Rd. Please slow-down in the
          work zone.
 
Bigelow Gulch Phase 3
Road Reconstruction (remove and replace), culverts, stormwater, guardrail and illumination system. Completed: October 31, 2021.
          Weile Ave: from Thierman Rd to Bigelow Gulch Rd
          
Motorists should expect lane restrictions (both directions, both lanes). Road is
          OPEN!
 
Columbia Dr- Northwood to Argonne.
Roadway Excavation, ADA ramp installation, Pavement removal and repaving. Lane Closures and flagging. Full closure – traffic detour is through Jacobs, Thierman, Jensen, Bigelow, Argonne and Elton. Completed: October 25, 2021.
          Columbia Dr: from Northwood Dr to Argonne Rd
          
Road Closed: Road closed for project.

Frideger Road Bridge Replacement
The road is CLOSED while the existing bridge is being removed for the construction of a new structure over the Little Spokane River. The project includes the removal of the existing roadway and widening with the construction of the new roadway. Completed: October 31, 2021.
          Frideger Rd: from Bridge #4902 Over Little Spokane River to Bridge #4902
          Over Little Spokane River – Road is CLOSED – Bridge OUT!
          
Flaggers may be present (both directions, all lanes): Detour route in place on
          Bridges Road, Madison Road and Frideger Road.
 
Wellesley Railroad Crossing Improvement
Removing pavement, crushed surfacing top course, HMA, cement concrete curb, guide posts, pavement markings, permanent signing, temporary traffic control. Dates: September 27-November 30, 2021.
          Wellesley Av: from Railroad Av to Murray Rd
          Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes): Watch for flagger's, road closures, lane
          restrictions, detour route.
 
          Garland Av: from Molter Rd to Murray Rd
          
Lane Restrictions (both directions, all lanes): Watch for flaggers & detours.
 
PRIVATE CONTRACTOR WORK BY PERMIT
 
SAR-HMC Antenna Replacement Project
Avista (800-227-9187) crew is replacing a SAR-HMC Antenna on the south side of 57th Avenue just east of Napa Street. Completed: September 30, 2021.
          57th Avenue: from Napa St to Martin St.
          
Motorists should watch for flaggers (both directions, all lanes).
 
ROAD MAINTENANCE
(Road maintenance projects are subject to change due to weather conditions and other road maintenance priorities)

Asphalt Overlay Elk-Chattaroy Road

Overlay is a paving method of applying a new layer of asphalt to a deteriorating surface. Completed: October 7, 2021.
Sherman Rd: from Mason Rd to Bridges Rd
          
Motorists should expect delays in both directions and all lanes. Be prepared to stop
          and watch for flaggers.
 
          Short Rd: from Stevens County Line to Deer Park City Limits.
          
Motorists should expect delays in both directions and all lanes. Be prepared to stop
          and watch for flaggers.
 
Crack Sealing
Crack Sealing on various asphalt roads, to prevent further break up of the asphalt surface. Dates: September 27 to October 7, 2021.
          Parkway Rd: from Aubrey L White Py to Lemon Ln
          
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes): Please slow-down in the work zone and
          watch for flaggers.

          Lemon Ln: from Parkway Rd to End Gravel/Start Pavement
          
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes): Please slow-down in the work zone and
          watch for flaggers

          Riverside Park Dr: from Missoula St to Seven Mile Rd
          
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes): Please slow-down in the work zone and
          watch for flaggers.

Culvert Repair/Replace.
Crews are digging to repair, and if necessary, replace the culvert. Completed: September 30, 2021.
          Prairie View Rd: from Collins Rd to Fairfield City Limits (Jackson Rd)
          
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes): Please slow-down in the work zone and
          watch for flaggers.

Ditch Cleaning
Crews are cleaning ditches with a backhoe or grader, to facilitate water runoff. Completed: September 30, 2021.
          Seven Mile Rd: from Garfield Rd to SR-291
          Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes): Please slow-down in the work zone and
          watch for flaggers.
 
Euclid Rd Bridge CLOSED
Euclid Rd Bridge is closed and a detour is in place. Replacing the bridge is the responsibility of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.

          Road Closed – Euclid Rd Bridge Closed
 
Weed Spraying
Weed spraying along Aubrey L. White Parkway as the weather allows. Completed: September 30, 2021.

          zone and watch for flaggers.
