ROAD CONSTRUCTION


Bigelow Gulch Phase 3
Road Reconstruction (remove and replace), culverts, stormwater, guardrail and illumination system. Completed: August 31, 2021. 

Weile Ave: from Thierman Rd to Bigelow Gulch Rd 

Motorists should expect lane restrictions (both directions, both lanes). Road is OPEN!

 

Bigelow Gulch Rdfrom Weile Ave to Argonne Rd

Motorists should expect lane restrictions (both directions, both lanes). Road is OPEN!

 

Chattaroy CTB
Crews are pulverizing the existing pavement and using Portland cement Type 2, spreading and mixing and other work. Completed: August 31, 2021.

From US2 to Elk-Chattaroy/Hardesty Intersection – Fully CLOSED on July 19, 2021 (local traffic only).

Motorists should expect delays. Flaggers and a pilot car may be present. Please slow-down in the work zone.

 

Forker Road Culvert Replacement - 1/2 mile South of SR206

The culvert under the road is being replaced and a modular steel bridge installed. Completed: August 31, 2021.

Frideger Road Bridge Replacement
The road is CLOSED while the existing bridge is being removed for the construction of a new structure over the Little Spokane River. The project includes the removal of the existing roadway and widening with the construction of the new roadway. Completed: October 31, 2021.

Frideger Rd: from Bridge #4902 Over Little Spokane River to Bridge #4902 Over Little Spokane River – Road is CLOSED – Bridge OUT!
Flaggers may be present (both directions, all lanes): Detour route in place on Bridges Road, Madison Road and Frideger Road. 

 

Guardrail Safety Project 
Crews are installing new guardrails at the locations below. Completed: August 31, 2021.

Old SR-195 Hwy: from Bridge #3112 Over Pine Creek & BNSF to County Pit #13-22
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). This is not the EXACT location. Project is from Mile Post 2.2 to Mile Post 3.1 

Williams Lake Rd: from Mullinix Rd to Weisman Rd 
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). This is not the EXACT location. Project area is Mile Post .90 to 1.72. 

Valley Chapel Rd: from Palouse Hy to Bridge Over Stevens Creek
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes): This is not the EXACT location. Project is from Mile Post .25 to Mile Post .90

Cheney-Plaza Rd: from Rock Lake Rd to Pine Grove Rd 
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). This is not the EXACT location. Project location is Mile Post 10.4 to Mile Post 12.5.


PRIVATE CONTRACTOR WORK BY PERMIT


Installation of Sewer and Water – ROAD CLOSED 
Eller Corporation (208-405-0238) crew is installing a 4-inch SDR-35 PVC Side Sewer service that will tie into the existing 8-inch sewer stub on E. Grace Road from N. Carnahan to N. Chronicle Rd. Completed: August 7, 2021. 

Grace Av: from Chronicle Rd to Carnahan Rd 
Road Closed: Grace Avenue from N. Chronicle to N. Carnahan.

 

Morrison Ranch Phase 2 – ROAD CLOSED
Red Diamond Construction (509-990-5426) crew is realigning south Barker Road at 32nd Avenue. The project includes grading and paving. Completed: August 13, 2021.

32nd Av: from Barker Rd to Saltese Lake Rd 
Road Closed: E. Saltese Rd. at 32nd Avenue and S. Barker Rd. approximately 1,500-feet east of the intersection. 
 

Needham Hill at West Terrace – ROAD CLOSED
Ground Tek Excavation (509-334-9757) crew is doing misc. work in the right-of-way. The project includes asphalt paving and grading, fire hydrant, and excavation. The site is located on south Hayford Road from 7700 to 8000 to the south of west Richland. Completed: August 12, 2021.

Hayford Rd: from Richland Rd to Melville Rd 
Road Closed: Hayford Rd is closed at Richland – detours are in place: Westbow to Aero Rd. and Melville to Thomas Mallen.

Asphalt Overlay - Various Roads in Spokane County 
 Overlay is a paving method of applying a new layer of asphalt to a deteriorating surface. Dates: August 9-23, 2021.

Bradshaw Rd: from Starr Rd to Fairfield City Limits            
Motorists should expect delays in both directions and all lanes. Be prepared to stop and watch for flaggers. 

Elk-Chattaroy Rd: from Chattaroy Rd to Chattaroy Rd 
Motorists should expect delays in both directions and all lanes. Be prepared to stop and watch for flaggers.

Short Rd: from Stevens County Line to Deer Park City Limits
Motorists should expect delays in both directions and all lanes. Be prepared to stop and watch for flaggers.

Spotted Rd: from US-395 to Stevens County Line
Motorists should expect delays in both directions and all lanes. Be prepared to stop and watch for flaggers.


Chip Seal - Various Roads in Spokane County 
Chip Seal is the application of a special protective wearing surface to an existing pavement. Dates vary (see below).
 

Dates: August 9-13, 2021.

Thierman Rd: from Weile Av to Valley Springs Rd 
Motorists should expect delays in both directions and all lanes. Be prepared to stop and watch for flaggers and pilot cars.

Valley Springs Rd: from Thierman Rd to Spokane City Limits
Motorists should expect delays in both directions and all lanes. Be prepared to stop and watch for flaggers and pilot cars.

Jackson Rd: from Morris Rd to Valley Chapel Rd 
Motorists should expect delays in both directions and all lanes. Be prepared to stop and watch for flaggers and pilot cars.

Morris Rd: from Jackson Rd to SR-27
Motorists should expect delays in both directions and all lanes. Be prepared to stop and watch for flaggers and pilot cars.

Prairie View Rd: from Fairfield City Limits (Jackson Rd) to Waverly City Limits (4th Ave)
Motorists should expect delays in both directions and all lanes. Be prepared to stop and watch for flaggers and pilot cars.

West Newman Lake Dr: from Muzzy Rd to Starr Rd 
Motorists should expect delays (both directions, all lanes): Be prepared to stop and watch for flaggers and pilot cars.

Whitworth Dr: from US-395 to Hawthorne Rd 
Motorists should expect delays (both directions, all lanes): Be prepared to stop and watch for flaggers and pilot cars. 

Westmoreland Rd: from US-2 (Newport Hy) to Cedar Rd 
Motorists should expect delays (both directions, all lanes): Be prepared to stop and watch for flaggers-pilot cars.

Hawthorne Rd: from Market St to Parksmith Dr 
Motorists should expect delays (both directions, all lanes): Be prepared to stop and watch for flaggers-pilot cars.

Strong Rd: from Spokane City Limits to Spokane City Limits

Temple Rd: from Norman Rd to Forker Rd

Crack Sealing on West Newman Lake Drive from Starr Rd to Muzzy Rd.

West Newman Lake Dr: from Starr Rd to Muzzy Rd 
There will be lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes): Crack Sealing on West Newman Lake Drive from Starr Rd to Muzzy Rd. Expect lane restrictions & flaggers.

 

Euclid Rd Bridge CLOSED
 Euclid Rd Bridge is closed and a detour is in place. Replacing the bridge is the responsibility of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.

Fog Sealing
 Fog Sealing is the application of a thin, quick-drying oil over the top of the chip seal. This preserves the integrity of the road. Dates: August 9-13, 2021.

Whitworth Dr: from Hawthorne Rd to US-395
Motorists should expect delays in both directions and all lanes. Please slow-down in the work zone and watch for flaggers. 

Waikiki Rd: from Mill Rd to Whitworth Dr 
Motorists should expect delays in both directions and all lanes. Please slow-down in the work zone and watch for flaggers.

Thierman Rd: from Weile Av to Valley Springs Rd 
Motorists should expect delays in both directions and all lanes. Please slow-down in the work zone and watch for flaggers.

Valley Springs Rd: from Thierman Rd to Spokane City Limits
Motorists should expect delays in both directions and all lanes. Please slow-down in the work zone and watch for flaggers.


Pavement Removal & Asphalt Overlay - One Day CLOSURE from 6:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
 Crews will cut and remove deteriorated sections of asphalt down to base rock and rebuild sections and complete an asphalt overlay. Date: August 9, 2021.

Chattaroy Rd: from Elk-Chattaroy Rd to Bruce Rd 
**ONE DAY ROAD CLOSURE** Cut & remove deteriorated portions of road. Rebuild sections and asphalt overlay.
