
Single Vehicle Fatal Crash on W. Charles Road
Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a single-car fatal crash this weekend on W. Charles Road. The driver, and sole occupant, was extricated by Spokane County Fire personnel and flown to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Traffic Unit Investigators continue to look into the factors that caused this crash and loss of life.
On June 26, 2021, at approximately 8:45 p.m., Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the report of a single-vehicle crash in the 12600 block of W. Charles Road. The caller stated she came up to the scene, noticing a vehicle had slammed into a tree, trapping the driver and only occupant.
Spokane County Fire personnel responded and had to extricate the driver due to the extensive damage caused by the collision.
The adult male driver (30s) was transported to the hospital by Life Flight, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Spokane County Traffic Unit Investigators responded to the scene to determine the factors that led up to this fatal crash.
SIRT Team Volunteers responded to assist with traffic control.
Initial information indicates the vehicle was traveling east on W. Charles Road when it left the roadway and struck a tree. With the information gained at this time, speed and alcohol are suspected factors.
