One Car, Fatal Crash in South Spokane County

Sunday evening, Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a single-vehicle fatality crash in South Spokane County.  The adult male driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

On June 13, 2021, just after 7:00 p.m., Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the report of a vehicle crash in the 18300 block of E. Belmont Road in South Spokane County.

The caller stated he happened upon a single-vehicle crash, and the truck was down an embankment in a wooded area north of the roadway.

Spokane County Fire District 8 arrived and advised the sole occupant, an adult male (30s), was deceased.  They secured the Ford F150 to prevent it from rolling further down the embankment.

Deputies arrived and observed the truck lying on its side down a steep embankment and began to gather additional information.

Spokane County Traffic Unit Investigators responded to collect evidence and determine what led up to this fatal incident.

Volunteer members of the SIRT Team responded to assist with traffic control and closed the roadway.

Traffic Unit Investigators determined the F150 was westbound on Belmont when the driver failed to negotiate a curve.  The truck left the roadway, went over a steep embankment, and rolled.  The driver was no wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected.

This remains an active investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
