In response to citizen requests, the County Building & Planning Department is developing a code modification to allow the raising and keeping of chickens in the Low Density Residential Zone and is seeking preliminary public comment on the idea.
Please find attached an outline of the Department's research into this topic, a preliminary draft code modification, and draft educational materials on the topic. Just click on this link.
This proposal will be introduced to the Planning Commission in June and depending upon direction, should proceed to a public hearing in July, where there will be additional opportunities for public input.
