Please talk to your children and their friends. Remember, they don’t have to be the driver; passengers are tragically lost and injured in these horrific crashes. What would your children do if they were riding in a car where the driver was reckless? Or impaired? We need your help/partnership, and we work to keep our youngsters safe and prevent teen crashes.
An important message from our friends and partners at Target Zero:
In Washington State young drivers, aged 16-25 years old make up 13.5% of the population but are involved in 31% of all fatalities and 34% of all serious injuries between 2015-2017.
Between 2015 – 2017 young drivers were involved in crashes that resulted in 2,243 serious injuries and 512 fatalities. More than 100 young people die each year on Washington Roads.
Tragically, we have lost 7 lives in crashes in just over 7 days in Whitman, Stevens, and Spokane Counties.
