UPDATE: Shooting on N. Sullivan Road 

 

Major Crimes Detectives continue to investigate last night's shooting at the parking lot located at 1901 N. Sullivan.

 

Within minutes following the shooting, witnesses provided a description of a possible suspect vehicle that fled the scene southbound on Sullivan.

 

Spokane Regional Emergency Communications dispatchers immediately provided updates and the description of the possible suspect vehicle as Deputies responded to the scene,

 

While responding to the scene, Deputy Catherine Horton observed a vehicle matching the possible suspect’s car at the intersection of Sprague and Sullivan.  In addition, one of the males involved was said to be wearing red clothing.  Deputy Horton noticed the vehicle was occupied by what appeared to be three males, and the driver was wearing a red hoodie.  

 

The vehicle was traveling south on Sullivan and turned west on Sprague as Deputy Horton turned around and followed.  The car continued driving for approximately four blocks at 25 mph in a posted 35 mph zone, despite Deputy Horton’s emergency lights and siren.

 

The vehicle finally stopped in a parking lot on Sprague, east of Progress.  With additional Deputies arriving to assist, all three occupants were safely detained. What appeared to be two handguns were clearly visible through the car’s back windows. 

 

The vehicle was seized as evidence and will be searched pending a search warrant.  

 

Later as the investigation proceeded, the driver, 35-year-old Adran L. Francis, and one of the detained juvenile males were arrested.  The second juvenile male was released and was not charged.  

 

Adran, a convicted felon, was transported and booked into the Spokane County Jail for Assault 1st Degree and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm 1st Degree.  

 

The arrested juvenile was transported and booked into the Spokane County Juvenile Detention Center for Assault 1st Degree and Possession of Pistol/Semiautomatic Rifle by Person from Eighteen to Twenty-One.

 

The victim remains hospitalized in stable condition. 

 

Correction:  The female that remained at the scene of the shooting is a juvenile, not an adult, as previously stated.

Argument Escalates, 1 Victim Shot and 3 Subjects Detained

 

Major Crimes Detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred this afternoon in Spokane Valley.  The victim was transported to the hospital with possible life-threatening injuries.  Three of the subjects were quickly located and safely detained by Patrol Deputies near Sullivan and Sprague.  

 

On February 4, 2021, at approximately 3:35 pm., Spokane Valley Deputies responded to a reported shooting in the 1900 block of N. Sullivan in Spokane Valley.  

 

Initial information indicates an argument involving five people escalated, and the victim, an adult male, was shot.  He was transported to the hospital with what appeared to be life-threatening injuries.  

 

Three of the people involved fled the scene in a vehicle, which Deputies located near Sullivan and Sprague.  The three occupants (one adult/two juveniles) were detained pending further investigation.  The juvenile female involved remained at the scene.

 

Major Crimes Detectives are responding to continue this investigation.

 

From the preliminary information, the involved subjects know each other, and this was not a random incident.
