Investigators Would Like to Talk to Anyone who was in the Area of Park Road

SVPD 2020 Letterhead

Investigators Would Like to Talk to Anyone who was in the Area of Park Road, Just North of Trent, on October 6, 2020, between 11:30-11:45 pm

Spokane Valley Traffic Unit Investigators ask anyone who was in the area of Park Road, north of Trent, during the night of October 6, 2020, specifically between the hours of 11:30 – 11:45 pm to please come forward and contact Detectives.

Even if you don’t think you observed anything unusual or of note, if you were in the area (Park Road: between Trent and Montgomery) walking, riding a bike, or drove through, you are asked to call Corporal Jeff Welton at 509-477-3237.

On October 6, 2020, at approximately 11:45 pm., Spokane Valley Deputies responded to a welfare check on Park Road, north of Trent Avenue.  The caller reported finding a female lying in the street suffering from an unknown problem.

Deputies arrived to find a female in her late 50’s, unresponsive, with no apparent signs of a serious injury.

Believing the female, who was experiencing extreme difficulties breathing and had a very weak pulse, may be suffering a medical emergency, they provided aid until medical personnel arrived to continue life-saving care.

The female was transported to the hospital where it was determined she was highly intoxicated and had several unexplained fractures.

Traffic Unit Investigators picked up the case and are working to determine exactly how the female was injured and what occurred prior to being discovered lying in the roadway (Park Rd.).

Investigators know she left a local tavern around 11:30 pm, and she was found in the roadway at approximately 11:45 pm.  Lacking obvious signs of blunt force trauma usually observed as a result of being struck by a vehicle, Detectives are looking into all possibilities as to how she ended up in the roadway and how she sustained her injuries.

The female is reported to be in critical condition and unable to provide information regarding what took place that evening.

If you were in the area of Park Road, on October 6, 2020, between the hours of 11:30 and 11:45 pm, even if you “believe” you didn’t see anything out of the ordinary, you are urged to call Corporal Jeff Welton at 509-477-3237.
