Single Vehicle Fatal Motorcycle Crash
An adult male motorcycle rider died of injuries sustained when he failed to negotiate a curve this weekend.
On September 12, 2020, just after 7:00 p.m., Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the report of a motorcycle crash on N. Government Way at W. Greenwood Road.
Arriving Deputies located the rider who sustained severe injuries and began life-saving efforts until they were relieved by medical personnel. Unfortunately, despite efforts to save the man’s life, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The motorcycle continued to slide southward and struck an unoccupied vehicle parked in the driveway of a nearby residence.
Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit Investigators were called to the scene, and Government Way was closed to traffic as this incident was investigated.
Initial information shows the motorcycle was traveling south on Government Way when the rider failed to negotiate a left-hand curve and laid the bike down.
Speed is believed to be a factor in the fatal crash.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner will release the name of the deceased at a later time, if appropriate.
