Speed, Impairment, and No Seatbelts or Helmets Appear to be Factors in Fatal UTV Crash
Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Traffic Unit Collision Investigators responded to a Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) rollover crash, which left one man dead and a second with non-life-threatening injuries.
On June 28, 2020, at approximately 12:35 a.m., Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the report of an injury crash involving a UTV in the 9900 block of E. Hays Road.
The adult male caller said he was riding in the UTV when it rolled. He explained a second rider, back at the scene of the wreck, sustained a head injury. The caller said he ran to a home near the scene to call for help.
Deputies and Fire personnel arrived at the overturned UTV and located the second adult male rider who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The male who called 911 was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
