SVPD P-Release

Suspect Shot in the Leg During a Dispute

Spokane Valley Deputies arrested 36-year-old Aleksandr V. Pavlik after he was shot in the leg during a dispute with the resident of the home.  Pavlik received medical treatment for a non-life-threatening injury and later booked into the Spokane County Jail for Burglary 1st Degree.

On March 26, 2020, at approximately 12:05 a.m., Spokane Valley Deputies responded to a residence located in the 8400 block of E. Rich for the report of a male who had been shot.

Arriving Deputies contacted the suspect, identified as Pavlik, and the adult male resident/victim.  Pavlik was provided medical attention for a gunshot wound to his leg.  The victim was not injured during the incident.

The victim stated Pavlik showed up at the victim’s residence looking for the vehicle he loaned to a female friend.  While they spoke at the front door, Pavlik claimed he could see his electronic device sitting on the victim’s table.  An argument ensued, and according to the victim, Pavlik tried to force his way inside the home.

As the victim tried to stop Pavlik physically, he said a pistol belonging to Pavlik fell on the floor.  The victim pushed Pavlik outside and picked up the pistol.  He aimed the handgun at Pavlik and warned him to stop, but Pavlik moved toward him, reentering the home.  The victim said, fearing for his safety, he fired the pistol, striking Pavlik in the leg.

Pavlik told Deputies he had loaned a vehicle to his girlfriend, and she hadn’t returned it.  He used a GPS system to track the car to the general area of the victim’s home.  He knew the victim lived nearby and went to the victim’s residence but did not locate his car.

Pavlik contacted the victim, and as they spoke at the door, Pavlik stated he noticed his radar detector on a table inside the home.  They began to argue, and Pavlik claims the victim pulled out a pistol, aimed it at Pavlik, and threatened to shoot him.  Pavlik said the victim lowered the firearm and fired once hitting Pavlik in the leg.

Major Crimes Detectives responded to the scene to conduct the investigation.

A check of the victim, and Pavlik’s name, revealed both are convicted felons.

After receiving medical treatment, Pavlik was transported and booked into the Spokane County Jail for Burglary 1st Degree.
