Male Enters Occupied Home and Exposes Himself
Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a male who reportedly entered an occupied home. The homeowner noticed the stranger standing inside his home, near the door of the kitchen, watching the homeowner’s unsuspecting teenage daughter. Deputies quickly located and arrested the suspect.
On March 2, 2020, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Spokane County Deputies responded to a report of a possible attempted burglary. The victims of the home, located in the 5600 block of S. Madelia reported an unknown male tried to enter their home through a locked door. The male, later identified as 23-year-old Justin A. Silva, was last seen walking away.
As multiple Deputies arrived in the area and began looking for Silva, a second caller in the 5400 block of S. Madelia, reported he found an unknown male (Silva) inside his home. After pushing Silva outside, Silva was last seen running north from the residence.
Deputy Kauffman and Deputy Velikodnyy contacted the second victim and learned when the homeowner first noticed Silva, Silva wasn’t wearing any pants and Silva left his shoes inside the residence. Later in the investigation, after Silva had been arrested, Deputies gained a detailed account from the homeowner. They learned Silva was initially noticed standing inside the house, naked from the waist down, near the door to the kitchen. Silva picked up his pants from the floor and started to walk toward the victim’s teenage daughter, who was seated in the kitchen. The victim told Silva to get out of his house and ended up pushing him out of the front door.
Minutes later, a third caller in the 5200 block of S. Madelia reported Silva, who appeared to be high, was wandering around, had been in her garage throwing bikes around, and was now on her patio.
Deputies located Silva in the fenced backyard and took him into custody without incident.
Silva appeared intoxicated/high and admitted to drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana.
He was transported and booked into the Spokane County Jail for Residential Burglary with Sexual Motivation and Indecent Exposure.
The following day, Silva was released on his Own Recognizance after his court appearance.
