[ARCHIVED] Single Vehicle Fatality Collision

Early this morning, at approximately 3:20 a.m., Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a single vehicle crash in the area of South Betz and South Granite Lake Road in West Spokane County.

When deputies arrived, they located a pickup truck off the side of Granite Lake Road. The adult driver and sole occupant of the vehicle had been ejected and was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel.

Spokane County Sheriff’s Traffic Collision Technicians were called to the scene to continue the investigation. They believe the southbound vehicle traveled off Granite Lake Road at a corner, north of Betz, and the driver lost control. The vehicle rolled and the driver, who appears was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected.
This is an active ongoing investigation and investigators believe speed may have been a factor.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the victim at a later time, when appropriate to do so.

No further information is available at this time.
