UPDATE: Suspicious Death Investigation on S. Park Lane Closed

On April 6, 2019, Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a welfare check and located a deceased male, later identified as 61-year-old Rex C. Porter, at the premises located in the 2800 block of S. Park Lane. A vulnerable adult, who also lived at the residence, was contacted inside. Major Crimes Detectives and Forensic Unit personnel responded to the scene to continue the investigation.

On July 29, 2019, the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of Rex Porter’s death as “Probable cardiac dysrhythmia due to combined drug toxicity due to simultaneous use of ethanol, sertraline, trazadone and ziprasidone” and his manner of death as “Accidental”.

After conducting a thorough investigation, Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Detectives found no evidence of any criminal acts leading to the death of Rex C. Porter and have closed the investigation.
