One Vehicle Fatal Crash - Palouse Highway Near Bruna Road
Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Investigators were called to the scene of a one vehicle, rollover crash early Tuesday morning. The adult male driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
On January 1, 2019, at approximately 3:10 a.m., Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area near the intersection of Palouse Hwy. and Bruna Road in South Spokane County.
Deputies contacted Spokane County Fire District 8 personnel, who had already arrived at the location, and learned the driver was deceased.
Spokane County Traffic Unit Investigators responded to continue the investigation.
The vehicle was traveling west on Palouse Hwy. when the driver failed to negotiate a slight curve and the vehicle left the roadway. The vehicle rolled and came to rest in a field, just west of Bruna Road.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and impairment may be a contributing factor.
SIRT Team volunteers responded to assist with traffic control during the investigation.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the driver at a later time, when appropriate to do so.
