Spokane County is updating its Capital Facilities Plan. Capital facilities are the public infrastructure needed to support new growth, such as: roads, bridges, sewer, water and storm water facilities, public buildings, and parks and recreation facilities. They typically have a long, useful lifespan and require a significant expenditure to construct. A Capital Facilities Plan is a six to twenty-year plan of capital projects, their cost estimates, and proposed methods of financing. The Capital Facilities Plan is a component of and an implementation tool for the Comprehensive Plan. The proposed draft plan is available for review and comment and a public hearing before the Planning Commission will be scheduled in the near futures. Comments can be directed to John Pederson, Planning Director at [email protected] If you have questions please call the Planning Department at (509) 477-3675.
