Suspect found Guilty by a Jury of Sexually Assaulting a Child, Sentenced 16+ Years in Prison
This morning, 37-year-old Nathan B. Nave was sentenced to a minimum of 194 months (16+ years) indeterminate sentence up to life in prison, with lifetime Department of Corrections supervision and sexual offender registration, by Judge Annette Plese.
The investigation, conducted by Spokane Valley Sexual Assault Unit Detective Brandon Armstrong, began in May of 2017. Through the investigation Detective Armstrong developed probable cause to charge Nave with Rape 2nd Degree, Rape of a Child 3rd Degree and Child Molestation 3rd Degree. Nave, who fled to New York, was later arrested.
On October 3, 2018, after a tail, persecuted by Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Amanda Fry, a jury found him guilty, with aggravating factors for each of the three counts, as the abuse occurred over a prolonged period of time, leading to today’s sentencing.
