Missing/Runaway 13-Year-Old Thomas J. Michalak

September 13, 2018 - Spokane Valley Sheriff’s Deputies are attempting to locate Thomas J. Michalak who was last seen near the 6900 block of E. 4th at approximately 12:30 p.m. this afternoon.

Thomas, who is Autistic and functions at approximately a 4th grade level, walked away from his school after he was disciplined.  Deputies, working with school staff and Thomas’ caregiver, have checked the surrounding area, including stores, parks and residences he’s been known to frequent but have been unsuccessful locating Thomas.

In the past, Thomas has been reported as a runaway from his residence located in the 2900 block of W. Heroy, but he has been located within hours.  With nightfall approaching and concerns Thomas is unfamiliar with the area and not dressed for expected lower nighttime temperatures, we are asking for the community’s assistance.

Thomas is described as a white male, approximately 5’05”, 170 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes.  He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, gray shorts, white socks and black shoes.  He is known to frequent populated areas or portray himself as transient, holding up signs near roadways on previous occasions.

If you have seen Thomas J. Michalak or know of his location, please call Crime Check at 509-456-2233, reference #10129095.
