Undersheriff Kevin Richey has been with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office since 2003. He has worked in the Patrol Division, the Civil Division, the Domestic Violence Unit, and the Special Assault unit. He is also a USAF veteran.
Undersheriff Richey has served as Field Training Officer, a Detective, a Patrol Sergeant, an Investigative Sergeant, and the Spokane Valley Assistant Police Chief.
Currently, Undersheriff Richey oversees the administrative functions of the Sheriff’s Office, including the Budget Office, Civil Division, Public Records, Labor Negotiations and grants and contracts.
In his spare time, Undersheriff Richey has served in local politics. He was recently the Mayor of Airway Heights and served as an Airway Heights City Council member for almost 14 years. He was also the Spokane County Deputy Sheriff Association president and current serves on the WACOPS (Washington Council of Police and Sheriffs) Executive Board.
