The Spokane County Transfer Stations are joining Washington State’s Paint Stewardship program. Recycling paints will be more convenient than ever. Material must be in liquid form in a closed container that will be left behind. This service will be available 7 days a week with no quantity limits, in the recycling area. Paint: Paint - Latex and oil based for household use:
Recycle - accepted in recycling area 7 days a week, no limits. Household paints interior exterior, latex, acrylic, water-based, oil based, enamel, deck coatings, floor paints (including elastomeric), primers, sealers, undercoaters, stains, shellacs, lacquers, varnishes, urethanes, waterproofing concrete, masonry, wood sealers and repellants (not tar or bitumen-based), metal coatings, rust preventatives, and field and lawn paints. are accepted as paint recycling. No limits for residential customers.
Not accepted as paint recycling: (Accepted as HHW, weekends only):
Paint thinners, mineral spirits, solvents, aerosol paints (spray paint), auto and marine paints, art and craft paints, caulking compounds, epoxies, glues, adhesives, paint additives, colorants, tints, resins, wood preservatives (containing pesticides), roof patch and repair, asphalt, tar bitumen-based products, 2 component coatings, deck cleaners, traffic and road marking paints, Industrial Maintenance coatings, OEM paints and finishes, containers that are leaking or empty.
