Treasurer Michael Baumgartner previously extended first half 2020 Spokane County property taxes from April 30th to October 15th for taxpayers on residential rental properties that submitted a declaration of financial hardship stemming from the eviction moratorium. First half 2020 property taxes in Spokane County were otherwise due by June 15th. 2020 second half property taxes were due for most taxpayers December 31st, 2020. First half 2021 Spokane County property taxes were due by May 31st, 2021.
September 24, 2021: On September 23rd, 2021 Governor Inslee announced a one-month extension of the eviction moratorium bridge from September 30th through October 31st, 2021. Treasurer Baumgartner in response has authorized an extension from September 30th through October 31st, 2021 for participants in the landlord extension program. Participants have until October 31st, 2021 to pay their extended property tax obligations without interest fees. Interest will accrue pursuant to state law beginning November 1, 2021.
Partial payments may be an option for taxpayers unable to make their property tax obligations in full. Please contact the Treasurer’s Office as soon as possible for more information.
To be eligible for the Spokane County landlord property tax extension, taxpayers must complete and submit an affidavit form.
