Landlord Property Tax Extension

Treasurer Michael Baumgartner previously extended first half 2020 Spokane County property taxes from April 30th to October 15th for taxpayers on residential rental properties that submitted a declaration of financial hardship stemming from the eviction moratorium. First half 2020 property taxes in Spokane County were otherwise due by June 15th. 2020 second half property taxes were due for most taxpayers December 31st, 2020.

July 1, 2021: Treasurer Baumgartner in response to the eviction moratorium bridge announced by Governor Inslee has authorized an extension from July 1 through September 30th, 2021 for participants in the landlord extension program. Participants have until September 30th, 2021 to pay their extended property tax obligations without interest fees. Interest will accrue pursuant to state law beginning October 1, 2021.

Partial payments may be an option for taxpayers unable to make their property tax obligations in full. Please contact the Treasurer’s Office as soon as possible for more information.

To be eligible for the Spokane County landlord property tax extension, taxpayers must complete and submit an affidavit form.
