Update: October 9th: On October 8th, Governor Inslee announced his intent to order an additional extension of the statewide eviction moratorium previously scheduled to expire on October 15th through December 31st, 2020.
Treasurer Michael Baumgartner previously extended first half 2020 Spokane County property taxes from April 30th to October 15th for taxpayers on residential rental properties that submitted a declaration of financial hardship stemming from the eviction moratorium. First half 2020 property taxes in Spokane County were otherwise due by June 15th.
Treasurer Baumgartner in response to the latest moratorium extension by Governor Inslee has authorized a final extension from October 15th to December 31st for participants in the landlord extension program. Participants have until December 31st to pay their extended first half property tax obligations without interest fees. Interest will accrue pursuant to state law beginning January 1st, 2021.
Second half 2020 property taxes in Spokane County were also extended from October 31st through December 31st for most taxpayers. For more information on second half property taxes click here.
Partial payments may be an option for taxpayers unable to make their property tax obligations in full. Please contact the Treasurer’s Office as soon as possible for more information.
The regular Spokane County 2020 spring first half property tax deadline is still Monday June 15th.
