Iller Creek Trailhead Improvements

Project Description

Iller Creek Trailhead is located at 9001 E Holman Rd in the Ponderosa Neighborhood of Spokane Valley. Currently, parking consists of unimproved shoulder parking along a narrow road. This trailhead is one of the most popular trailheads in the County’s park system due to the popularity of the Iller Creek Loop Trail and access to the Rocks of Sharon.

The project will improve approximately 1,000 lineal feet of shoulder along the west side Holman Road by clearing vegetation and widening the shoulder to a width of 6-8 feet. The project also involves installation of "no parking" signs along the east side of Holman Road to preserve a clear travel way for service and emergency vehicles as well as neighbors to the east.

This project also involves the extension of power to the trailhead and the installation of a street light and webcam.

Funding: Conservation Futures M&O and Private Donation.

Project Timeline: Design - 100%, Construction - 5% (In progress. Shoulder improvements should be completed by April 4th. Electrical, including webcam and street should be completed by May 1st. Subject to weather and other factors.
