Thanks to a grant from the Washington State Department of Ecology, Geiger Work Crew, and the Spokane County Regional Solid Waste System have teamed up offer a new opportunity for community-minded volunteers – “Team Up to Clean Up”!
Throughout the year, Spokane County roads and trails become cluttered with trash. It’s unsightly, unsanitary, and presents a variety of risks for wildlife. The good news is that you can help by organizing a group of volunteers to spend a few hours cleaning up trash along the road/trail…and the Geiger Work Crew has everything you need.
Get a group together, select a county road or trail, send in the completed Litter Pick-Up Event Submission Form (will not work with the Internet Explorer browser) or fill out the submission form below, and you’ll be contacted by Sgt. Tim Atchison at TATCHISON@spokanecounty.org. They will provide safety vests, gloves, litter claws/pickers, bags, traffic cones and signage. They will also pick up the bagged trash and recyclables. The Spokane County Regional Solid Waste System will then dispose of the litter without charging a tipping fee.
So – let’s “Team Up to Clean Up”!
