More Information About Becoming Part of the SAR Team
Spokane County Search and Rescue team members are required to take numerous classes to become part of the team - and to maintain team status.
These classes include:
Search and Rescue Academy - offered once a year - 40 to 60 hours
FEMA Courses IS 100 & 700 - available
online
First Aid Training - through the academy with refresher training held during exercises
Blood Borne Pathogens - available
online
Basic Helicopter Safety Training - available during SAR Academy and one optional date

All classes (with the exception of FEMA and Blood Borne Pathogens) will be provided by Search and Rescue and/or other certified personnel. Certificates of completion must be emailed to
