Due to COVID-19 outbreak and the related impacts to offenders and staffing, Geiger recently suspended all programs. The congregate /dorm housing at Geiger Corrections create difficulties in mitigating and managing the potential spread of COVID-19. Through processes, and COVID-19 quick test technology we have new options to screen individuals before allowing them into the facility and create a safer environment for the staff and population. Please note that future COVID outbreaks may/will impact external services and may require programs to be suspended.
The Spokane County Detention Services Programs Team collaborates with various community partners to provide a variety of options for the incarcerated offender. These programs are provided both within the facility and in the community to offer offenders opportunities for learning and putting into practice alternatives to lifestyle choices, transforming their thought and response processes in efforts to reduce the likelihood of re-incarceration.
