Candidates Who Have Filed During the Special Filing Period

Online Filing

The Spokane County Elections Office will open a special filing period for several elected positions which had no candidates file during the regular filing period. Candidate Filing is August 4th - August 6th  The special three-day filing period begins on August 4th for the districts listed below only:

Town of Spangle – (Council Position No. 3)
Orchard Prairie School District - (Director Position No. 3, 4, and 5)
Riverside School District - (Director District No. 5)
Fire District No. 2 – (Commissioner Position No. 1, 2 and 3)
Fire District No. 10 – (Commissioner Position No. 2)
Fire District No. 12 – (Commissioner Position No. 1 and 3)
East Spokane Water District - (Commissioner Position No. 3)
Four Lakes Water District - (Commissioner Position No. 1 and 2)
Val of The Horse Water District - (Commissioner Position No. 2)
Vel-View Water District – (Commissioner Position No. 1, 2 and 3)
Hangman Hills Water District – (Commissioner Position No. 1, 2 and 3)
Strathview Water District - (Commissioner Position No. 1 and 2)
Spangle Cemetery District – (Commissioner Position No. 3)
Waverly Cemetery District – (Commissioner Position No. 1, 2, and 3)
Williams Lake Sewer and Water District - (Commissioner Position No. 1)

These vacant positions will appear on the General Election Ballot.  The candidate that receives the most votes will be elected to fill the term.  If the office has a filing fee, please be prepared to pay the required filing fee in full at the time of filing.  

Candidates may not withdraw at any time when filing for office during a Special 3 Day Filing period.

To file for one of the listed positions, file online starting at 9:00 AM on August 4th until 4:00 PM on August 6th or fill out the Candidate Declaration Form (PDF) and submit the form via email or in-person at the Spokane County Elections Office.

Spokane County special filing closes August 6th, 2021, at 4 PM.

Candidate Online Voters’ Guide Statements & Photos

The Spokane County Elections will be providing an Voters’ Guide for the General Election. After your Declaration of Candidacy has been validated, you will receive a separate email notification describing how to submit your candidate statement and photograph.
