Project Description - Market St. Widening Project proposes to widen Market St. from the railroad crossing just north of Parksmith Drive to Farwell Road. Improvements include two 11’ lanes, a center two way left turn lane, and bike lanes. New sidewalks and curbs will be constructed throughout most of the project at locations where they do not currently exist. Along these road improvements, the Spokane County Utilities Division will construct a sanitary sewer line.
Phase 1 - will be a full road closure starting Monday, April 11, 2016 and lasting approximately 45 days. Local access will be allowed to local businesses and homes. The road surface will be rough soil and the road will often be blocked by equipment. A signed detour route will direct traffic around the project on future SR 395 (North Spokane Corridor)
Phase 2 - The road will be opened while under construction. Two way traffic will be maintained through the project with either channelization devices or flaggers. Motorists should expect delays.
