Williams Lake (319 acres): Rehabilitated in the fall of 1995, fishing for rainbow trout will be fair during the 1996 season because of catchable-size rainbow plants in the spring. The Mayfly hatch in mid-May is usually the peak fishing time. Located 12 miles southwest of Cheney via Mullinex Road, it has public access on the northwest shore and several resorts. Shallow water some seasons may limit access for larger boats at the public access site.
Open season is from the last Saturday in April through September. To reach Williams Lake go South from Cheney on the Cheney/Plaza Road. The Cheney/Plaza Road turns into Rock Lake Road, turn right on Williams Lake Road then left into the state launch area at the sign. To reach Bunker's Landing, continue past the state launch to Mullenix Road and turn left on the road marked to the resort.
