Keep your shoes and paws clean! Using muddy trails can lead to permanent trail damage.
Spokane County relies heavily on volunteers to build and maintain trails. If you are leaving a visible tire rut, hoof or foot print more than 1" deep, the trails are too muddy to use. Please recreate responsibly. Thank you! Read On... -

Purpose
The purpose of the Parks Advisory Committee (PAC) is to make recommendations to and advise the Parks and Recreation Director on matters concerning the operation and maintenance of the Spokane County park system.
Mission Statement
As representatives of the public, we are committed to supporting the mission of the Parks and Recreation Department by providing advice and recommendations to the Director.
Background
The Board of County Commissioners created the Parks Advisory Committee in December of 1987. In February of 1988, the first informal meeting was held. In February 2001, the Committee was expanded to include a non-voting youth member. In 2019. the PAC was adjusted to a seven-member advisory committee with the seventh member being a youth-at-large position (not older than 18 years old at the time of his / her appointment).
The Park Advisory Committee was formed to make recommendations and to advise the County Parks Director on matters concerning the operation, maintenance and enhancement of the Spokane County Parks, Recreation & Golf Department. Parks Advisory Committee members have formed two subcommittees: The Land Evaluation Committee (LEC) and “Sponsorship” subcommittee. Land Evaluation Committee members advise Parks Department staff on Conservation Futures Program policies, the evaluation (and subsequent ranking) of potential properties to be acquired by the Program. LEC members may also advise Staff from time to time during the land acquisition phase of individual properties. Sponsorship sub-committee members assist with Spokane County Sponsorship program (under development).
The Park Advisory Committee members are appointed for a four-year term with a maximum of two terms. The Youth At-Large position is a one-year term.
