Storage Assessment

Little Spokane River at Chattaroy, Washington

This is the midstream one of three sites on the Little Spokane River for the instream flow monitoring project. It is located on the Little Spokane River upstream of the confluence with Dragoon Creek at Chattaroy, Washington at approximately RM 23. The drainage area for the Little Spokane River at this site is approximately 511 square miles and the elevation is 1700 feet.

This site is control point No. 12-4295.00 for Minimum Instream Flows under WAC 173-555-030. The USGS established USGS gage no. 12429500. Historic data is available for 1948. Spokane Community College currently maintains a stream gage at this site. The Department of Ecology has also monitored surface water quality near this site in 1999,1998, 1994 and 1993 at river monitoring station 55b200.

This site will be monitored for depth, water velocity, discharge and water surface slope seven times over the period of this study. Cover and substrate information for this site was also collected.
