WRIA 54 Lower The Spokane River Watershed Plan
The WRIA 54 Planning Unit began Phase III of the watershed planning
process, plan development, at the August 2007 Planning Unit meeting.
The Planning Unit decided to approach planning through development
of Issue Papers for core issues within the watershed. The
Issue Papers will consist of a background discussion, supporting
data, unknowns, alternatives considered, and action to implement.
The Issue Papers will be developed by workgroups that will meet
apart from the Planning Unit and then report back to the Planning
Unit as appropriate. Six workgroups have been established,
water quality, water management, land use, technical information
base, education, and instream flow.
