On Friday May 9th 2014, Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich welcomed 5 new deputies to the Sheriff’s Office. Family and friends, along with Sheriff’s Office personnel, joined the swearing in ceremony held in the Sheriff’s Conference Room. With these
welcome additions, this brings our total number of commissioned personnel to 216 of the budgeted 223 positions.
Our Personnel Unit continues to work with Spokane County Civil Service to process qualified entry level and lateral deputies to fill the additional 7 positions we currently have open. The current budgeted number of 223 commissioned positions is well below the
247 positions allotted back in 2008 prior to budget cuts.
