Spokane County Detention Services Press Release

Tuesday, April 29, 2014 12:00 PM

Officials at Spokane County Detention Services report that 23-year-old Courtney Michelle Cate escaped from a Geiger Corrections Work Crew while working in downtown Spokane on Monday, April 28, 2014 at approximately 10:35 AM.

A preliminary investigation has revealed Cate may have had the help of another inmate in her escape attempt. That inmate will be interviewed as part of the investigation as it continues. Officers from the Spokane Police Department are continuing to follow up on leads and work to locate Cate.

Cate is described as a white female, 5’-02”, 115 lbs. with brown hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen dressed in a tan jumpsuit and a blue jean jacket.

Cate was booked into Spokane County Jail on 04-23-14 on Degree Driving While License Suspended 3rd and was being held on an $800.00 bond along with a Felony warrant from Pend Oreille County for Possession of a Controlled Substance with a $5,000.00 bond.

The investigation is continuing and no further information is available at this time.
