Last night, November 15th, 2013, at 11:00 p.m., Spokane County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one-vehicle collision at 3700 N. Harvard Road. Deputies arrived on scene and found a 1998 Toyota Camry's passenger side wrapped around a large power pole with
three occupants inside the vehicle. Due to the severity of the collision, Sheriff's Office Collision Investigator's responded to the scene.
Investigator's spoke with the 14-year-old male back seat passenger who said they were traveling northbound on Harvard Road. Prior to the collision he looked at the speedometer and said they were traveling 100 mph. He received minor injuries and was released
to his parents.
Based on evidence at the scene, the vehicle lost control, slid sideways towards the west side of the road and struck a power pole on the front passenger side door of the vehicle. The 17-year-old male front passenger was transported to a local hospital and is
listed in critical condition. The 15-year-old unlicensed driver was also transported to a local hospital and is listed in serious condition. Speed and inexperience were both factors in the collision and damage to the vehicle is consistent with the rear passengers
Charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing.
