NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Spokane Regional Criminal Justice Commission that a public hearing will be held on:

BACKGROUND

The Spokane Regional Criminal Justice Commission (SRCJC) was commissioned by the Spokane County Commissioners and Spokane City Mayor David Condon in the fall of 2012. The SRCJC’s mission is to conduct a comprehensive review of the entire Spokane regional criminal justice system and to make specific recommendations to the County and City which address reduction of crime, the efficiency and effectiveness of the criminal justice system, the effective use of detention and alternatives to detention, and the effectiveness of re-entry programs (“Recommendations”).

PURPOSE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The purpose of the above scheduled public hearing will be for the SRCJC to consider public testimony on their Recommendations which they will present to County and City leaders at a later date.

The Recommendations will be available for viewing on the SRCJC website on Nov 1st, 2013.

To ensure that everyone attending the public hearing has an opportunity to speak, testimony may be limited to three (3) minutes per speaker. The SRCJC reserves the right to adjust the time frame allotted to speakers as well as hearing procedures during the public hearing.
