On Friday, May 4th, Spokane County Sheriff's deputies responded to a burglary call at a business located near the 9500 block of South Grove Road. Deputy Miller contacted the business owner... who told him that when he arrived at work Friday morning he
found a large amount of copper wire had been stolen sometime between Thursday evening and Friday morning.
The business owner told Deputy Miller that copper wire, approximately 3 1/2" in diameter, ran from a generator to a large piece of machinery. Several hundred feet of the wire had been stolen which was going to shut the business down for several days.
The business owner estimated the cost of the copper wire near $40,000.00. Total loss for the repairs and business closure was estimated at over $100,000.00.
