This morning, July 10th, 2013, at 6:40 a.m., Spokane County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a 2-vehicle collision near 7500 N. Market St. Deputies arrived on scene to find a full sized Chevrolet truck and Dodge Dakota with extensive damage after what appeared
to be from a t-bone collision. Two adult male occupants of the Dakota and the adult male driver of the Chevrolet were all eventually transported to a local hospital.
Due to the fact the injuries appeared to be serious, Collision Investigators responded to investigate the collision. According to Corporal Jeff Welton, evidence and witness statements showed the Dakota was traveling northbound on Market. The Dakota drove onto
the northbound curb, overcorrected and drove completely across the southbound lanes of travel on Market. The Dakota struck a retaining wall on the west side of the road nearly head-on causing the rear of the Dakota to spin counter-clockwise into the southbound
lanes of travel. The driver of the southbound Chevrolet truck was unable to avoid the Dakota and t-boned the Dakota in the southbound lanes of travel.
Prior to being transported to the hospital, investigators developed probable cause to arrest the driver of the Dakota, identified as 42-year-old Corey Keller, for DUI. A blood draw was completed at the scene prior to Keller being transported to the hospital.
At last check it appears injuries to all three occupants are minor. Investigators attribute this to the fact all three were wearing their seatbelts as well as airbag deployment.
